For this project, I chose to reimagine the 2006 album "The Cleansing" by American deathcore band Suicide Silence. The music present on the album is punishing and abrasive, often describing scenes of violence and destruction growled over crushing instrumentals. The narrative of the piece is: a group of civilians are being sacrificed and having their souls siphoned to hell. The front cover conveys the souls, the gatefold the bodies, and the back a close up of stitched skin. Inspiration for the illustrations came from horror videogames like Silent Hill and The Evil Within.
